Design at Yellowstone National Park
Summary
In 2020, I moved back to the place that started it all in terms of my love for wild places, national parks, maps, and serving the public: Yellowstone National Park.
My primary responsibility is managing the park's publications program, writing, designing, printing, and distributing more than 2 million copies of over 80 different publications, including:
- The Yellowstone Resources and Issues Handbook, a 300-page reference manual of all things Yellowstone.
- The park visitor guide, which provides key safety and visitor information to the park's nearly 5 million visitors each year.
- Trail guides, foreign language guides, regulatory booklets, and the park's accessibility guide.
- The Junior Ranger program, including booklets, badges, and stickers.
- Dozens of site bulletins on a variety of topics, from hiking guides to bird checklists.
I also contribute to the park's media needs by designing and producing signs and exhibits; contributing to the park's website, app, social media, and podcasts; serving as a print and digital cartographer; and anything else that needs doing to keep Yellowstone and its visitors happy and healthy.
